The Hall/Southington boys hockey team is looking to surprise the state this year with their young team. With the absence of  2015-16 All-State senior captain Jared Florian, the team is looking for ways to put the puck in the net without banking on one individual such as Florian. Coach Brian Cannon claimed in an interview that, “the team has good team speed that they are working on bringing out.” The Warrior-Knights have started the 2016-2017 season with a record of 1-2-1, in hopes of improving with every game. They are coming off a 3-2 win against Newington-Berlin, where they were outshot 27 to eight. “We need to start playing harder” said senior defenseman Colby Glidden. “We are supposed to be weak this year, but are hoping to catch everyone by surprise.” The team faces Enfield/Stafford/East Granby this Saturday, in hopes of securing another win and getting one step closer to making the state tournament. “They are spread out between three towns, so we hope our unity helps us to get ahead early and get another win” said Glidden. More updates will follow after Saturday’s matchup.
