As of April, 2017, the refugee death toll has surpassed 1000. Many of these fatalities are infants and children who can’t swim and drown in the sea trying to flee their war torn countries. Trump has stated “We only want to admit those into our country who will support our country and deeply love our people.” This unfortunately hasn’t seemed to work as acts of terror have not slowed down, and accounts of innocent deaths continue to rise in the Mediterranean.
