Valentine’s day is right around the corner, and love is in the air. Walking around the halls, I see frequent hugs, hand holding, “snoodling”, and much more. I also hear the phase “Love you!” echoed throughout the hall on the daily. This made me wonder, what do the kids of Hall High School think love is? I took on the love filled hallways to get an answer.

I got a various answers to my question, and at the end of the day I compiled these responses to get a final conclusion of the question: What is love?

“When the bell rings at the end of the day.” Shara Reimer 19’

“When teachers say no homework.” Siobhan Boyle 19’

“Love is a way for the movie industry to make money.” Maren Beverly 19’

“Anything that makes you happy.” Anne Tulikangas 19’.

*starts belting the song “What is Love” by Haddaway*  Joey Schneider 20’

“Rough” Jonah Gershon 20’

“Going into your bed after finishing homework. Actually just sleeping. I don’t know. Sleeping” Oliva Ayers 20’

The most frequent answers I got to the question was a one word responses of “sleep”, “bubble tea”, and “Moes”.

Now, as I said, Valentine’s day is coming up, and to prepare yourself for anymore questions about love, I suggest watching the following movies Love Actually, 10 Things I Hate About You, and Grease. I do not recommend the classic movie Titanic because we ALL know that there was enough room for Jack on that door, they could’ve taken turns, she left Jack to literally freeze to death.

But back to business, I decided to do a good ole google search to see what the internet had to say about this question, and as I expected it I found many cheesy responses such as “Love is a treasure which we can never pay. The only way to keep it is to give it away”… Oy vey!!  After reading cliche after cliche I decided the internet didn’t have the answer either. So with that, I ended my search for the answer.

Well, there you have it, from the halls of Hall High, to google, to classic romance movies, it is very clear that there is no definite answer. And with that, I wish everyone good luck in finding an answer and a happy Valentines day!
