Muse; Art Gallery
Muse, a place in West Hartford, Connecticut, that represents a community of artists, and families where they can connect together. Just as you are given a blank slate when you are born into this world, at Muse, you are given a blank space to create your own masterpiece. Many materials go into the making of your painting such as paint, various paintbrushes, an easel, and a goal of what your painting is to look like. We see similarities within our own lives, as we paint our life with each stroke our brush takes, along with the support of our own easel, our family. Each color you paint onto your canvas is different, as well as each stroke you take. Some are longer and thick, while others come from slightest movement of our brush. Yet, every single stroke is key to making the masterpiece. We have the support of those who love us, our easel. It is only fitting I brought my grandma to paint with me since she is one of the strongest easels supporting my piece I call “life.” As we begin to paint, there is a goal that we are trying to create within our canvas. Though all the paintings may all be of the same thing, each is different and has different character to it, as are our lives.
As I see my painting coming to life, there is no one else I’d rather share the moment with than my dearest grandmother. We laugh at our mistakes, and smile at the wonders we have created. We praise each others’ successes, and help each other when we are in need. The more we paint, the more I have come to realize how painting is so much more than colors on a canvas, it is an experience that is a depiction of my life. The painting tells a story, and how the painting was made is a whole other story, each equally beautiful in their own way.
Muse, is a special kind of place. A place that brings people together through love, and through paint. Not only will the paintings last, but also the memories of how it brought the in the people closer together.
