Deilanis Santana, a senior at Hall who’s new to Journalism. She’s ready to overcome the challenges that come in Journalism and she hopes that her writing will help spread awareness to important issues that are going on around the world.
Q: What are things you’re passionate about?
A: I’ve always been passionate about video games. I’ve always been a try-hard with video games ever since I was a child, and over the years, I started to play more competitively. Music is also another thing that I’m really passionate about. Playing guitar and bass are things that I do daily, so I can improve my skills.
Q:What made you interested in Journalism?
A: I wanted to learn and understand the world of Journalism better, because Journalism is everywhere, it’s how I get information about what’s going on in the world. So I think it would be really interesting to learn about the world of Journalism and the challenges that it comes with.
Q: What are things that you look forward to in Journalism?
A: The main thing that I’m looking forward to in journalism is learning about people's stories. Every single person has a different and unique story to tell and journalism is a way to learn about these different stories.
Q: Is there a certain topic you would like to write about in Journalism?
A:I think I would like to write about different identities. I think it’s important to learn about these different identities because it shows that we, as a community can accept these identities and welcome them with open arms.
