Sam Epstein, a passionate filmmaker, is ready to bring her ideas and opinions to life through the Hall Record. She enjoys personal journaling as an outlet for her daily life, and wants to take her writing skills to the next level by writing for the school.

What has been your biggest accomplishment?

I created the Bake Someone Happy club at Hall. The club meets monthly, students bake together, and the goods are delivered to homeless shelters in the Hartford area. The idea came to me Sophomore year, and getting to see it come to life has been a huge accomplishment. Out of school, I recently published my second short film online, which has been a rather big deal.

What do you take the most pride in?

I consider myself a very socially aware person and enjoy listening to my peers and helping them. I take pride in this, as I can use my skills to do my part to better the world around me.

What are your biggest interests out of school? You talk about film, is that something you want to pursue in college?

I’m attending Skidmore College next year, going in undecided. I'm either going into Film or Psych. I'm really interested in Psychology and am currently taking AP Psych which I really enjoy. For Film, I have to figure out if that's the practical path for me lifestyle wise, but if I could make it work, there’s no doubt I wouldn’t be happy.

Why journalism?

I really do enjoy writing; I want to use this opportunity to write about things I'm compassionate about, and I think this is the place to do it.
