Jake Rocheleau is a 17 year old senior at Hall High School. Aside from being an avid three-season runner, Jake wants to pursue engineering in college.
Born and raised in Connecticut, he has always focused on local stories. “Journalism is more real life,” which is exactly why Jake consumes journalism daily. Jake first realized the importance of journalism from following the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Whether it's watching local TV news before school or reading breaking news on his phone, Jake is committed to s taying informed on important issues.
Jake attributes his willingness to being “open-minded” to being the son of a police officer, which has helped him understand his own bias and ultimately write objective stories. Even though journalism may not be his “comfort zone,” Jake is still determined to write truthful stories about important events and issues.
