The “godfather of AI” Geoffrey Hinton says that AI(Artificial Intelligence) has the ability to eventually become smarter than us. He left his job at Google to explain what the real dangers of AI are and to show how scary of a concept it really is.

Lots of different people are worried about lots of different things having to do with AI. Things like job loss, deep fakes and also privacy violation are of the main concern.   In an interview with Francesca Giordano, a student athlete at Hall High School; she was asked, “So what do you personally think the dangers of AI could be?”

 “Recently I have been seeing a lot of hyper realistic videos made from AI and it made me think to myself, ‘ what if someone accused someone else of a crime and just faked a video of them doing it’”. In another interview with Charles Croce; He was asked the same question.

“I don’t really know much about the topic but Chatgpt has become a huge problem in our school because of how easy it is to just put a prompt in and just have it write an essay for you”.

AI has spread exponentially from school to school and is being used to complete assignments and write essays. Some students think that it’s unfair to the people that actually put the work in. During the interview with Cassidy Green, when she was asked how she felt about AI, she responded with, “I just think it’s stupid how I have to spend multiple days trying to type up, revise and edit an essay and some people just tell an AI to write them an essay and they still turn it in proudly like it is their writing”. AI is becoming more and more of a problem, and more and more people are starting to wonder what the solution will be.
