At Hall, the art program is not just about creating pieces, it is about the thought and design that goes into it. In the first image, Nate glazes his piece after weeks of planning, designing and building. In the second image, it is clear to see the variety and creativity within the pieces, showing how different people can interpret and design differently, something not very common in other classes. Finally, the third picture shows Nate being able to put his artwork into the kiln, the final step of the art process. The joy on his face shows how he feels accomplished and rewarded for his hard work, a sense of relief that his work has gone to something he is proud of. Art at Hall, in our case Ceramics, is a class people often look over or push aside, as many believe it only fits a certain niche. However, we hope to show that the class builds creativity, allows for self-expression, and fosters a sense of community for the students involved.
