7:25 am with the line of cars going all the way down the street. This is the only option to get to your designated parking spot but poses as a free ticket to be marked tardy.
Students at Hall High School in West Hartford know they need to arrive early to avoid traffic. Every morning and afternoon, the one-lane main road leading to Hall becomes a parking lot, with cars trying to get in or out. Much of this traffic comes from students being picked up, dropped off, or driving themselves. Although school buses are available for students living two or more miles away, many still prefer using a car. This congestion delays school bus drivers, making other students late. Regular commuters on the main road also fall victim to Hall’s notorious traffic. With numerous apartments set to open in West Hartford, how will the population increase affect this growing problem?
