Generation Isolation

The main point I am trying to get across in my pictures is that our generation is doing more to help the world than previous generations think we are. Previous generations think that we are so locked to our phones and technology that we are not motivated enough to better our world.

The first photograph depicts a student sitting by himself at a lunch table, while in view are other students sitting with their friends. The picture is supposed to represent how at a time when we are supposed to be more connected than ever, there are an awful lot of lonely people. We are so focused on trying to show people the best side of us on social media that we forget to focus on figuring out who we really are.

The second photograph is supposed to show how involved our generation actually is in our world. It shows a student watering plants in a garden during school because they looked dry. This disproves the cliche of our generation that we only care about ourselves and technology, when in reality, students everywhere are standing for change. Many kids, including myself, do genuinely care about the environment and the future of our planet, which also disproves popular stereotypes previous generations think about us.

The last photograph shows a student doing his work, without the use of technology, while eating an apple. The point I am trying to make with this photo is that even though older generations think we are all lazy, technology dependent bums, we actually are all hard working individuals who are optimistic about the future. The apple is supposed to represent how Generation Z actually cares about our bodies and how we are more healthy because we stress more about our well being.
