A tragedy has taken place. An event that rocked the nation and brought America to its knees. I am not talking about the devastating fires destroying much of California or the political turmoil threatening American democracy. No. I am referencing the catastrophic breakup between Cardi B and Offset.

December 5, 2018, will forever live in infamy. America’s sweetheart, Cardi B, announced via Instagram that she intended to split with husband and Migos rapper Offset. We all held our breath as Cardi tried “to work things out” with her baby daddy “for a hot minute”. Much to the chagrin of all 325 million American citizens and the billions more following this story internationally, the two rappers have not been able to repair their relationship.

The story broke after allegations that Offset cheated with rapper Cuban Doll. Doll acknowledged those rumors in an emotional apology video, stating that she “didn’t know how serious this marriage was.” You can obviously understand where Cuban Doll is coming from. You can never be sure if a marriage is open to adultery or not.

In a shocking display of affection, Offset interrupted a Cardi B show and asked for her forgiveness on stage. According to a CNN article on the story, Offset came onstage with a bouquet of flowers in hand and a cake reading, “TAKE ME BACK CARDI.” But Offset romantic gesture did not make his baby momma happy. Cardi could be seen on stage looking less than amused.

Think about the children. Well actually, in this case, it is only one child. The pair gave birth to daughter, Kulture, in July. It’s gut-wrenching to imagine the kind of emotional trauma endured by that little girl. Cardi B and Offset need to get back together for their child. Cardi B and Offset need to get back together for their marriage. Cardi B and Offset need to get back together to save the United States. America is praying.
