Coming to Hall: Machinal
Machinal is an expressionist play written by journalist/playwright Sophie Treadwell. Inspired by the true story of Ruth Snyder who was executed in 1928 for the murder of her husband, the play chronicles the life of a young woman who finds herself confined by societal expectations, the patriarchy, and the mechanics of everyday life.
