Review of the School Bathrooms
Oh, school bathrooms. Some of us (*cough* all of us *cough*) use them to get out of class or to meet friends during the school day. Although our instinct may be to use the closest bathroom, this review may advise you against that.
First, I evaluated many girls’ bathrooms throughout Hall for cleanliness, ventilation (smell), and functionality (supply level and how well it works). Then, I asked students about their favorite girls’ bathroom at Hall. Here are the results:
Language wing (A200s)
Cleanliness: 8/10
Ventilation: 7/10
Functionality: 4/10
Things to Note: The last 2 stalls don’t lock, but there is a full mirror
English wing (A100s)
Cleanliness: 6/10
Ventilation: 6/10
Functionality: 3/10
Things to Note: Often has a line, and hand dryers are inconvenient for this popular space
History wing (C/H100s)
Cleanliness: 9/10
Ventilation: 9/10
Functionality: 8/10
Things to Note: Only 3 stalls, but the humorous writing on the stalls makes up for it
S wing (“swing” as the cool kids say)
Cleanliness: 10/10
Ventilation: 10/10
Functionality: 7/10
Things to Note: In pristine condition, but the soap in between the sinks leads to dripping on each other’s sleeves while reaching for it
History wing-2nd floor
Cleanliness: 6/10
Ventilation: 3/10
Functionality: 7/10
Things to Note: Often out of toilet paper
Cafeteria
Cleanliness: 3/10
Ventilation: 5/10
Functionality: 2/10
Things to Note: Always has a line and is often missing paper towels
Gym/front hallway
Cleanliness: 8/10
Ventilation: 8/10
Functionality: 8/10
Things to Note: Popular changing room for sports after school, but during the day it is never crowded
Guidance hallway
Cleanliness: 7/10
Ventilation: 3/10
Functionality: 9/10
Things to Note: Almost always empty and has a mirror for those dreaded ponytail fixes
Portables
Cleanliness: 9/10
Ventilation: 5/10
Functionality: 9/10
Things to Note: Soap dispenser farthest to the right never works
Overall, our results showed that the gym bathroom and new bathroom in the “swing” are our most popular restrooms. Now that you know these details, maybe it is worth that extra walk to get to a clean and functional bathroom for your daily needs.
