Amy Zheng, Editor
Amy Zheng, 17, has been immersed in art her whole life and hopes that journalism will too.
Q: What sparked your interest in journalism?
A: In my summer of junior year, I attended an online journalism camp, and even though everything was online, I still liked it because it taught me a lot about the different types of journalism, such as photography and video making. I think journalism is very important to our world.
Q: How do you think your values and beliefs impact your writing?
A: My background makes me want to write articles that represent minorities and events that are typically not talked about in media.
Q: What are your other hobbies besides journalism?
A: I like reading (my favorite genre being fantasy) and drawing, as well as listening to a variety of music.
Q: If you were to be one of the smurfs in the smurf village, which smurf would you be?
A: I think I would be the cooking smurf, that one seems cool.
