Carl Nicklas, Writer
Carl Nicklas is a 16-year-old senior who attends Hall High School. Born in Hartford, he lives in West Hartford with his close-knit family of four. His mom, Senora Nicklas, teaches Spanish at Hall, and his older brother studies at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Carl is heavily involved with the school community, partaking in the schools cross country and baseball teams. Not only is Carl physically active, but he is academically active as well and that is what introduced him to his passion for journalism.
This senior was drawn to the class beginning with his love of literature, especially his favorite book Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, which, as Carl says, “will always be a classic to me.” He then decided to start reading more, from sports articles to current events, Carl was especially interested in learning the style of writing that an author uses. Carl wants to use his hard-working attitude to benefit the journalism class and, in the future, a university.
