Hi I'm Ella and I'm so excited to write for Hall Record!

Ella Nemirow, Editor

Ella Nemirow is a Senior at Hall High School. She joined Journalism Class in hopes of improving her writing and interviewing skills, while staying informed about global issues.

Q: Why did you take Journalism Class and what do you hope to get out of it?

I took this class because I enjoy writing, and I think that it’s very important to know what’s going on in the world, so I felt like the class would like help with that. I guess what I hope to get out of it is just some of the important skills like interviewing that will help me later in life, and also better knowledge of the world around me.

Q: Are there any topics that you’re passionate about covering or learning more about in the class?

I think that like humanities issues are very important, so just anything regarding equality I think would be interesting to cover because I get to learn more about it.

Q: If you could change one thing about the way that news is shared today, what would it be and why?

I think things are really polarized right now, and I think like that there’s so much bias in the news, so I would change things to be less biased and more just factual because I think that’s hard to find right now.

Q: Who’s your biggest role model and why?

My mom is my biggest role model because she’s very hardworking. I feel like she has everything together and she’s always just getting stuff done. Something I admire about her is that she’s very empathetic, and that’s a mindset that I strive to have for myself which is hard to keep sometimes.

Q: What’s a strength and a weakness that you have?

A weakness I have is that I often put too much pressure on myself, which affects many parts of my life. A strength I have is that I’m very loyal and I care a lot about the people in my life.
