Emilia Lofting will bring a well-rounded student perspective to HallRecord as she is big part of the Hall community because of her role in multiple sports and her academic honors.

Do you plan on doing something in journalism?

Yes, I do want to minor in journalism.

Growing up, did your family like listen to any specific news sources? 

I don’t know about specific news sources. I guess my dad goes on BBC a lot because he’s from England, so he likes to keep up with that news, but they just  read the news in general, really

Looking at our growing world, what are some changes that you feel you would want to do, and why?

I would definitely want to spread more awareness about specifically politics and like the things going on with the elections, and, all the false news being spread surrounding certain candidates. I feel like spreading awareness about that would be important.

What is some laws that you would change in the United States?

 Personally, I would do something about gun control, putting a restriction on who can own guns and who can use them.

What is the most important lesson that you’ve learned in life?

I guess I don’t know if this is a lesson, but just like being honest with yourself and others, because, you can never really get away with lies in life I feel like. 

What is something that you’re good at / strength  and what is something that you struggle/ have weaknesses with?

A weakness for me is probably doing presentational things, like presenting in front of people, or even just like talking in front of a lot of people. But a strength for me would probably be some type of writing. Like, I’ve always been good at English and it’s always been my best subject in school.
