Eric Diaz
Eric Diaz is a lifelong football player who is taking journalism in order to socialize and voice his opinions. He’s also a big family guy and loves spending time with his family.
Q: What is the biggest lesson you’ve taken away from being on the football team?
A: Definitely learn to motivate other people around because it’s not only you on the team. There’s not a star that’s supposed to be the only one to shine on that field; it’s a whole group; it’s like a second family to me.
Q: Who would you say is the most inspirational person in your life?
A: I would say my mother. I am adopted so she’s technically my aunt but I’ve lived with her for 16-17 years, so basically she’s my mother. She gave me a second chance at life to be someone and I owe her a lifetime for that.
Q: What are you most excited about with this journalism class?
A: Being social. I’m usually a person that stays quiet most of the class and just agrees with everyone around even though I have different thoughts in my head. I’m really hoping to be more social and engage with others in order to get my ideas out there.
Q: What’s one topic you would like to talk about in journalism?
I would talk about college athletes being able to get paid; Right now it’s looking good for the most part but I want to try and write something not biased so the whole nation can understand why athletes should get paid.
Q: What are your goals for the future?
A: My goals are to find a place in my life where I know I am able to relax and live a day-to-day life, wake up knowing that there’s not going to be a problem, also to be financially stable for my future family.
