Katherine Washburn, Editor
Katherine Washburn is a senior and field hockey captain at Hall High School. She moved here from Massachusetts with her family at a young age, so she has completed most of her education here in West Hartford. Her post-high school plans include the University of South Carolina, because she wants to go somewhere warmer. Although still undecided on her major, Katherine is interested in crime and psychology.
In two words, Katherine describes herself as “determined” and “patient.” Close with her family, Katherine finds herself most inspired by her mother because of how she puts everyone else first. Katherine wants to use journalism to write about the “random, unique stuff that we don’t hear about everyday,” and her unique personality and viewpoints will definitely make her articles worth reading. She watches the news three to four times a week to stay up to date on important issues.
Katherine’s decision to take Journalism stems from her desire to stay informed about current events, as well as to write about topics that she is passionate about without strict guidelines and rubrics holding her back. She is very excited to write her own articles.
