Senior Kiley Murphy expresses her passion for journalism and clarifies why she chose to pursue it

Q: What‌ ‌topics‌ ‌are‌ ‌you‌ ‌planning‌ ‌on‌ ‌writing‌ ‌

about‌ ‌this‌ ‌semester?‌ ‌

 ‌A: I’m‌ ‌planning‌ ‌on‌ ‌writing‌ ‌how‌ ‌this‌ ‌class‌ ‌

[journalism]‌ ‌and‌ ‌teacher‌ ‌are‌ ‌treated‌ ‌at‌ ‌

this‌ ‌school‌ ‌and‌ ‌how‌ ‌the‌ ‌class‌ ‌is‌ ‌not‌ ‌

equally‌ ‌treated.‌ ‌I’m‌ ‌also‌ ‌gonna‌ ‌be‌ ‌writing‌ ‌

about‌ ‌mental‌ ‌health,‌ ‌and‌ ‌I‌ ‌think‌ ‌that’s‌ ‌it.

Q: what made you take this class or want to take this class? 

A: I really like writing about, not stories, but things that are 

happening right now. 

Q: What is something that you are looking forward to in this class? 

A: Getting to write what a want and being able to express what 

I believe in… and having my voice heard. 

Q: If you became a professional journalist, which city would you want 

to live/work in and why.

A: Probably new York. I’m not sure why but it feels like a more 

populated area and a lot of people will get to see and know your

writing. 

Q: What do you hope to get out of taking this course?

A: better writing skills and better self expression.
