Q: Why are you taking journalism?
A: Well, I think knowing what’s going on in our world is really important, and journalism makes that more accessible. Also, oftentimes we only see one side of an issue, so being able to read other opinions through journalism is crucial.
Q: How do you want your writing to affect others?
A: I hope that I can help people can get a better sense of what’s going on in the world and start to formulate their own opinions.
Q: What is a source of inspiration for you?
A: There is a singer-songwriter, Alec Benjamin, who is very open in the songs he writes, and he shares things in his music that a lot of people don’t talk about. Being able to relate to something has helped me so much, and I think he’s so inspiring and brave for sharing these personal feelings that others don’t really talk about. And even though this is music and it’s different from journalism, I think it’s also similar in the fact that you’re sharing something that’s important to you.
Q: Overall, what do you think is the most important thing someone should know about you?
A: I’m very passionate and I have a lot of things that I love doing. I get very passionate about my beliefs, but I also am open to listening to other opinions and views.
