Lede: Leilani Caez is navigating how to connect her new knowledge of Journalism to her passion for nursing.

Q: What impacts does Journalism have on your life?

A: It informs me about things going on in the world that I wouldn’t have known about unless I took the class, because I didn’t check the news daily before.

Q: Has there been a recent world event that has resonated with you, and if so, why?

A: The recent mass shootings definitely impact me. The events makes it hard for me to want to go out, because it’s scary not knowing what’s going to happen.

Q: If you could change one thing in the world or society, what would it be?

A: The treatment of women. I’d make it so that everything is equal for women compared to men, because I think that it is a big issue.

Q: “What is your main passion?”

A: Nursing, I’ve always wanted to help people. It’s something really big for me that I want to get into in the future.

Q: What or who motivates you?

A: My mom. She has gone through a lot, and she’s one of the hardest working people I know.
