Brennen Ravenberg, Editor

Brennen Ravenberg is 17 years old, born and raised in West Hartford. He is known to be a little quiet, but always thoughtful in what he says. Brennen is a scholar: musically and academically inclined. Coming from Vietnam to the US, Brennen’s mom has been a huge inspiration to him. Achieving the American dream, both parents of his have built successful careers in Connecticut.

Journalism seemed like a good fit for Brennen because it applies so much more in the real world than any other English class. It is unlike all of the other options offered, and new from the types of classes he has taken in the past. He is ready for success in the school newspaper and website this year.

Music is most important to Brennen, although he participates in a variety of activities. Freshman year he played soccer, didn’t see it as a fit, and switched right into tennis the next year. Outside of playing guitar in the school jazz band and clarinet in the regular band, Brennen travels up to NYC every Sunday to play in the Jazz at Lincoln Center Youth Orchestra, and is also part of his own rock band Gravitonik.

Ravenberg states, “I would love to pursue music in the future and hopefully find success in that.” But, he could also see himself taking the path of working in an office and dreading coming to work every day, because it is not his dream of playing music.
