The Care and Keeping of a Pug

Pugs are known for having multiple health issues, however 12 year old me was not aware of this. Within weeks of taking Puglsley home, he had already fractured his leg. This is common for small, energetic dogs, yet it ended up continuing to reoccur, needing to be recast every few months. As he grew up, he started to develop excess mucus build-up in his eyes, nose, and ears, which isn’t rare for aging pugs, but it requires constant attention. We have found him to have become basically blind and deaf, to the point where he can barely find a treat in front of him. Despite his medical issues, Puglsley still has a lot of energy, and is able to play just as much as any other dog.
