The Boston Marathon is one of the world’s most prestigious and well-known marathons. This annual race is held on Patriot’s Day, the third Monday in April. The race has a long and glorious history, beginning in 1897 when the first Boston Marathon was held. Since then, the race has grown into a major international event, attracting thousands of participants worldwide,
and the best marathon runner in the world, Eliud Kipchoge, holds the world record. This year the weather was not perfect in the marathon and it was rainy and that changed all the rules of the game.
Evans Chebet and Hellen Obiri won the men’s and women’s races. Evans Chebet defeated Eliud Kipchoge and win the 2023 Boston Marathon.
Eliud Kipchoge came in sixth place.

Everett Hackett, one of the artists in the high school hall and also a professional marathon runner, finished 58th overall in this year’s Boston Marathon. And one of Connecticut’s top marathon runners says
