Let’s Make it Claire: Happy Hall-idays

There is nothing like eating a candy cane during the holiday season. There are many different ways to eat candy canes, you can put it in hot chocolate, make fudge, or candy cane oreo cookie bars. Now that I’ve established the importance of candy canes let’s get down to business. I decided to take the halls of this wonderful school and test which brand is the best of the best so your holidays are filled with cheer.

I tested two different brands of candy canes, Spangler and Brachs. Both brands were well received by the hall community but it all comes down to the facts.  Spangler candy canes ended up defeating Brachs in the taste test, but it was remarked by one student that Brach’s candy canes have a “better texture”. If you still aren’t sure which candy cane you like better take these comments into consideration “Brach candy canes taste like paper” Sophie Murchie 19’, “Wow they are gluten free” Clare Marx 19’, “Je ne sais pas” Dr. Kofi, french teacher.

Personally, I enjoyed Brach brand candy cane better. First of all, the outward appearance is much brighter and more festive than Spangler. Also, the texture is significantly better. But overall, it came down to the better flavor. Although both are minty and festive, Brach’s candy canes just have a stronger minty taste that left my breath feeling fun and festive.

Now you know what type of candy cane trumps all. So, when looking for the perfect candy cane to enjoy while sitting by the fire, or by a nice holiday movie you can make an educated decision. I hope this article helped the hall high community make one of the most important decisions of their year.
