More Than Just a Tech Generation

There is a perception of our generation that we are antisocial and stuck in our phones all day. I took these pictures to show this isn’t true. Even when we use our phones, we use them in a social manner. For the most part, we are actually a generation more attached to nature than many would think. There is a beauty and love for nature innately inside of all of us. We enjoy being outside, and embracing the outdoors. This love has not been lost. Most of the people I know would say that they are fond of, or intrigued by, nature.

Our generation is also very social, playful, and creative. In contrast to the stereotype that we like being isolated at home with technology, we actually enjoy being with friends. Technology such as videos and other media are used as conversation starters. Although we are capable of independence, we have more fun in groups. Social life plays a huge part in our lives. These pictures are really meant to capture this aspect of us, along with our playfulness and creativity. The creativity in us is seen in some of the “unorthodox” things that we do for fun; for example, my friends and I had a race inside of recycling bins. This is just one of the many spontaneous and funny things our generation might do to have fun.

In conclusion, I hope that these pictures help people better understand who our generation really is.
