Equality For All

These photos represent young women creating change. People perceive our generation as the technological driven or “lazy” generation, but, we are much more than that. The media rarely talks about the real change high school students are making; instead, they report on student stress levels or test scores.

In the first picture it represents the silent campaign for equal right for all. As the girl walks through the hall she shows everyone that she will not listen to conformity. Her buttons display joyful, meaningful messages about equality and peace Parents view this as their kids just adding “personal things” to their bags, which is a really good way to voice her concern. In the second picture, the girl is doing work on her computer which has inspiring messages on it. People misunderstand the meaning of these stickers. People, once again, think it’s just a personal touch, when in fact it’s inspiration to her. Every time she sits and does work, those images remind her that she is doing to make the world a better place. In the third picture, the girl is doing work with inspiring messages besides her. As her arm divides the picture in half, it shows the right side where the message says “The Future is Female”, and the left side shows her learning, once again, about men. Those accessories represent her longing desire to learn about women. Teachers, parents, and lawmakers don’t understand these silent symbols to push for women’s equality.
