Debt for degree

This photo essay depicts the typical high school to college process that many students suffer through. The photos capture the amount of dedication and hardship these students must go through on a daily basis, just to one day receive a piece of paper saying “accepted”. As teenagers life is already difficult enough, especially as the unforgiving assignments and due dates begin to pile on, life can seem grim. There are many students at Hall High School who have felt the harsh effects that the educational system plagues on countless individuals. Whether it be pulling an all nighter to consistently getting only 3 hours of sleep each night, only to be bombarded with more work the next day, many high school student can understand what level of dedication is needed to be handed a slip of paper allowing you to only continue the deathly process for 4 or even 8 more years. Nevertheless many find this the only option to one day live a successful life. We still find ourselves with mountains and valleys of loans to pay off, at times almost doubling the original amount of tuition, and in the world we live in today it seems money is held over everything, even the right to a higher education. Now the question arises, why do we put ourselves, our children, and our family, through the unforgiving process through which students can feel even more anxiety and more pain, if the payoff is debt?
