Nature vs. Human Order

With my photos, I wanted to catch the tranquility nature is able to display. I also wanted to contrast this by showing how man was able to make order out of nature’s chaos. In my first photo, I wanted to capture the cloud level which looks almost parallel to the top of the mountain. In the second picture, I included the cairn towards the left hand side of the photo. I believe emphasizing the cairn showed contrast between the natural rocks and mountain, brought to order by humans. Color exposure is also present with the greens and blues, giving a calming mood to the photo with artistic touch. In my third photo, I captured another view of the mountain in which the sky was much lighter and the clouds were able to brighten the photo. Each photo gives a sense of serenity. These photos were taken while I was on a twelve mile hike in Maine. I believe the relationship of man and nature was peacefully shown in the photos. Each frame was filled by mountains and clouds, providing a nice element of rule of thirds. The mountaintop had a 360 view, due to a fire on top, which I believe added a very nice artistic touch with many natural curves.
