City Life

I take pictures everywhere I go. But the places that have stuck out to me are the cities of America. Often times, cities like Chicago and NYC are described as “dangerous” and “dirty.” I have found quite the opposite. Our cities are full of life and happiness and they represent the opportunity of growth. When I walked down the crowded streets in the heart of Boston, Massachusetts, I watched entertainers awe crowds of strangers. In Chicago, children played in fountains and artists sang in the subways. Rather than being isolating and lonely, there is never a quiet moment. After all, New York City is also known as the “city that never sleeps.” There is so much diversity and so many people with different stories to tell. In these three photos, I tried to capture the essence of the city: prosperity, happiness, and hope. When I visit these places, I am filled with a sense of overwhelming excitement and curiosity. I knew that the best way to capture my feelings was through the actions of others in the city.
