Hall Highs and Lows

From a secret dungeon to a new science building, what are the best and worst things about Hall? When interviewed for this article most teachers struggled to find a negative side of Hall High School.  Students, on the other hand, had many things to say about what we should improve at our school.  “I hate the closed campus, it makes me sad” said senior, Will Webersen.  The closed campus showed to be a recurring issue throughout the student body.

Several students voiced concerns about the Wi-Fi. Peter Piao ’20, like many other underclassmen, Jack McHale ‘19 and Miller Anderson ‘19, had complaints about the Wi-Fi at Hall, stating it was their least favorite part of school.

Upperclassmen seemed to have more varied problems with Hall High School.  “Politically correct nonsense”, stated senior, Chris Monnes, when asked about the problems of Hall High School.  “I don’t like the closed campus. It makes me feel trapped,” Claimed another senior, Theo Blaschinski.  These problems are much more complex, and have probably become harder and harder to deal with throughout the years.

Contrary to the students, many of the teachers’ problems had to do with the buildings, and the much needed updates.  Nora McHugh, chemistry teacher, complained about her worn out chemistry classroom. However, she was excited when announcing that there will be a new science building.  The librarians, Mrs.Pervere and Mrs.O’Donnell, expressed their disdain for the faculty lunch room, calling it a, “dungeon”.

As there are a variety of things that Hall students and faculty expressed dislike for, most were in a consensus that the diversity and friendships make up for the little quirks of Hall High School.
