As the fall sports season is well underway, teams begin to prepare for their biggest game: The Hall-Conard matchup. No matter the sport, Hall-Conard games unite a town divided by multiple high schools for an exciting event. With one of the boy’s soccer games already in the books, this looks like it will be a year full of close games.

Before Hall’s first win over their crosstown rival, we talked to soccer Captain, Chris Monnes, about the upcoming season. When asked his opinion on Conard soccer, he responded with an emphatic “Sub-par with a losing record, while we are 7-0-0, filthy.” We asked him to predict if he would beat Conard, to which he responded with a confident “Absolutely.” The soccer teams meet once again later on this season, Tuesday, Nov. 1, at Conard.

Later on in the year will  be one of the highest attended games of the year for both schools. This year’s Hall-Conard Football game is shaping up to be one for the books. When asked about the game, Hall’s Varsity Football coach, Frank Robinson said “I imagine it’s going to be a great game.”

With all the talent at both schools, the town of West Hartford is in for an exciting high school sports year.
