        Hall High School takes great pride in our wide selection of fall sports available for girls and boys.  We got a chance to interview a girl from each of the varsity girls sports at Hall to see how they were feeling about their teams this year. Here is the inside scoop on records, comparisons to last years teams, and more!  Read on to learn all about these Lady Warriors.

 

Girls soccer Interview with senior captain Cammie Cho

What is your team’s record?

5-5-3

How do you feel about your team this year?

I am really proud of my team because we lost a lot of our seniors and we are still doing really well.

How does your team this year compare to your team last year?

We definitely lost some skill after losing a lot of D1 athletes, but we have a lot of heart, and play well together.

Has your team qualified for states? If you haven’t yet, do you think your team will qualify for states this year?

Why do you play this sport?

Because the team is great and Ferg [Head Coach of the soccer team] is great.

Is your team successful this season? why or why not?

We are successful because we have fun.

 

Girls Volleyball interview with Noa Malone

What is your team’s record?

10-8-0

How do you feel about your team this year?

We work really well together and it’s a very motivated group of girls.

How does your team this year compare to your team last year?

We are definitely better. We are more focused this year.

Has your team qualified for states? If you haven’t yet, do you think your team will qualify for states this year?

Yes

Why do you play this sport?

I started playing because it was very popular at a summer camp I went to. Because I went to a private school, I thought it would be a good way to make friends. I just fell in love with the sport.

Is your team successful this season? why or why not?

Yes I think because we are the most driven vb team hall has had in awhile because we are beating a lot of teams that hall hasn’t beaten in a while.

 

Girls Cross Country Interview with Lauren Sosa

How do you feel about your team this year?

I Really love my team this year.  I love all the hard work that is put into the runs and seeing girls improve.

How does your team this year compare to your team last year?

It has doubled in size, and there was a huge increase in dedication.  We beat Conard this year, which we did not do last year.  We also were ranked 25 out of 26 last year, and this year we are ranked 13 out of 26.

Has your team qualified for states? If you haven’t yet, do you think your team will qualify for states this year?

Heck ya!  This Saturday!

Why do you play this sport?

I love to push myself and see myself and my teammates improve.

Is your team successful this season? why or why not?

Yes!! Everyone has beaten their personal record at least once this season.  We knock the socks off of people.

 

Field Hockey interview with Caroline O’Keefe

What is your team’s record?

6-5-1-1 (last number for an overtime win)

How do you feel about your team this year?

It’s a good group of girls that are passionate about field hockey.

How does your team this year compare to your team last year?

We are obviously a lot better than we were last year.

Has your team qualified for states? If you haven’t yet, do you think your team will qualify for states this year?

Yes.

Why do you play this sport?

I’ve been playing since sixth grade. I’ve liked it for a long time. My friends play it, and it’s a good way to spend time with my friends and stay active. I really like it.

Is your team successful this season? why or why not?

Yes, I think so.  We are in shape, we are dedicated to win games make it far this season.

What is your team’s record?

9-1-0

How do you feel about your team this year?

I feel really confident in our team this year.

How does your team this year compare to your team last year?

We’re a lot stronger than we were last year.

Has your team qualified for states? If you haven’t yet, do you think your team will qualify for states this year?

Individual people have qualified for states, so yes, technically we have.

Why do you play this sport?

Because swimming is obviously the best sport to do.

Is your team successful this season? why or why not?

Yes, we are successful this season, and doing a lot better than we were last year.
