2020-21 Warriors Basketball Ready for Revenge

Promise turned to struggle. Struggle turned to promise. After winning three of its last four, including a big win against rival Northwest Catholic, the 2020-21 Hall Warriors are looking to succeed in their revenge tour.

For Hall High School, “Revenge tour” has been a growing theme across all sports. The 2018 boys soccer team lost to Glastonbury in the State Championship, but fast forward a year and the Warriors had completed the revenge tour with a win in the State Championship.

Now, it’s basketball’s turn. It’s time for Senior Matt Walker to show the state what he is really made of. It’s time for Junior Makyle Ramos to shine bright under the spotlight. It’s time for the chemistry between Seniors Beau Adams, Jack Cote, and Alex Mogel to show out. It’s time for Warriors basketball to lift off.

Since the end of last season, the returning core has been hungry to get back out on the floor. Senior captainMatt Walker was snubbed of All-Conference honors, but ultimately became disappointed in himself due to the team’s overall struggles. Walker spoke on the future of the team, “It would mean the world to have a season this year. Although we did not make states last year, we planned on grinding in the offseason to come back for another shot at getting a ring.”

Due to the unknown future of COVID-19, the Warriors basketball team, as well as the rest of the CIAC ,has their fingers crossed for upcoming announcements regarding the season. It will not be the same, but any season will do., especially for the seniors who just want one last ride with their teammates. “Our entire team would be devastated if our season was cancelled,” Walker expressed. “I believe in this team that we would be able to accomplish a run at the state championship if given a season.”

The 2019-2020 Warriors basketball squad came into the season as underdogs, and believe it or not, this returning 2020-2021 lineup is being just as underestimated as the year prior. Be ready. This Warriors team wants revenge more than ever. It’s time for the state of Connecticut to be shocked.
