Hall High’s Stressfully Stacked Staircases

With one way staircases and shorter passing times, the staircases at Hall are busier than ever. Teachers fail to acknowledge that walking across the school, with over 1,000 students, may take more time than the four minutes given. With this fear of tardies and detentions in student’s minds, they’re eager to get to class no matter what. They also fear Covid-19 and it’s influence on our school community. Being in such close quarters, packed with students, raises worry within some. Punctuality and viruses in mind, student stress levels are on the rise, causing them to lash out and for their patience to be tested. Shoving on staircases can be very dangerous, especially with such a dense population of people in a small, isolated area. Overall, the crowded staircases cause troubles for all students at Hall, and teacher’s need to be more conscious of the anxiety involved with them.
