Aarohi at her Gold Award Ceremony

Aarohi Tolat, Editor

Aarohi Tolat, a senior at Hall with passions ranging from space and genetics to the performing arts, is excited to contribute her knowledge and unique perspective in journalism.

What do you like to do outside of school?

Outside of school, most of the activities aren’t through the school. I dance a form of Indian classical dance, Bharatnatyam. That takes up a lot of my time outside of school. I also sing Hindustani Classical music. And I play an instrument, but that's with school because I'm in orchestra and also Camerata, which is one of our select ensembles in the town. I'm a Girl Scout as well.

What did you do over the summer?

Over the summer, I did some volunteering at Hartford Hospital, which was really fun. I got to help out with different events that they had, as well as work in their genetics and breast care department, which has always been an interest of mine. And besides that, hanging out with friends and family, and dancing.

Whenever you end up looking at the news, what kind of stories do you like to see?

I like seeing stories about space because I really like learning about space. Science stories in general tend to captivate me — I love learning about new discoveries. Besides that, I like stories related to politics and current events, especially in terms of legislation and stuff. I like knowing what's going on with that. And also world news, I guess, I like knowing what's happening in other countries.

What do you plan on writing about this semester?

I'm probably going to write about current events happening in the school. Maybe if there's something I'm passionate about happening in the country or in the world, then that. And then besides that, maybe something related to the performing arts.
