Student Jake Herz, 17, has many interests including sports, music, and video games. He also understands the importance of journalism in the ever-changing world. 

Q: How would your friends describe you?

A: My friends would describe me as energetic but very shy. I keep to myself sometimes.

Q: What’s your favorite subject in school and why?

A: My favorite subject is psychology because it’s all about learning about how humans think.

Q: What do you do outside of school?

A: I’m into music and video games, and I’d say I spend some time throughout the day exercising.

Q: Why does journalism interest you?

A: I’ve been fascinated about current events all my life, and journalism is you telling the current events.

Q: What do you hope to write about?

A: I mostly hope to write about the truth. I want the right story out there, not necessarily a specific topic. I just want the correct story.
