Jessica Johanson, 17, is a senior at Hall High School and is a competitive gymnast. She plans to attend Penn State, and she is prepared to use the skills learned from journalism later in life.
Q: Who is in your family?
A: I have my mom and my dad, an older sister, Ashley, a younger brother, Jadon, and a dog, Finn.
Q: How has your life been during the pandemic?
A: I have definitely gotten closer to my family and especially my sister. She actually opened her own small business, and I have helped her out with that a little bit. Being home a lot, I have also just spent some time alone.
Q: What do you do in your free time?
A: I am a competitive gymnast, so I have practiced a lot for that. Other than that, I am mostly doing school work, and I like to hang out with my family and friends.
Q: What has been your favorite class to take at Hall High School?
A: I think my favorite class so far has been AP Biology. I took that sophomore year, and it definitely was difficult, but I really liked the way the teacher presented the information. I found that class very interesting.
Q: Do you see yourself having a career that is, or relates to, journalism?
A: I don’t really picture journalism being a future career for me, but I definitely think that I will use the skills that I am learning in the future. I’m hoping to learn more about interviewing and communication.
