Kate Hockensmith, a senior at Hall High School, is looking to report on impactful interests and issues for the HallRecord.
Q: What interests you the most about journalism?
A: I think learning about current events is really interesting and very important to understanding the world around you. I think that’s the thing I’m mainly the most interested in.
Q: What do you plan to do after high school?
A: So I’m going to go to a four year college and getting an undergraduate degree in early elementary education. And then ideally go back for a master’s degree in occupational therapy.
Q: What is journalism to you?
A: I think it’s really important. It’s a really good way to understand the world around you and to understand what’s going on in a way that other forms of awareness aren’t able to do.
Q: What’s the best piece of advise you have ever received?
A: Don’t underestimate yourself.
