Miqueias Carlos Da Silva, Editor
Miqueias, a student at Hall High School, brings a deep love for soccer and a curiosity about journalism to the Hall Record. With a lifelong passion for the sport and a position as striker on Hall’s team, Miqueias hopes to channel that energy into writing about international soccer and sports culture for the school newspaper. Though new to journalism, they joined the class to explore a field they hadn’t yet experienced and to develop new skills in writing and communication.
Q: Why did you join the Journalism class?
A: It seemed to be interesting. I don’t know much about journalism, so I thought this would help me learn more about it.
Q: What are you interested in writing about for the school newspaper?
A: Sports. International soccer. Since I was a kid, I have played soccer, and it’s what I do in my free time. I play striker at Hall. Maybe I’ll write about that.
Q: Tell me more about yourself! What do you want to do when you graduate? What else do you like to do in your free time?
A: I like to play soccer and listen to music. I also like to cook. I can cook anything, having learned it from my parents, but I don’t want to do it as a career.
Q: What—besides soccer—has your interest in the world today?
A: I don’t read or watch the news besides soccer.
Q: Do you want to play soccer in college?
A: I haven’t thought about it. I haven’t thought too much about the future.
Q: Who is your biggest influence in life?
A: Probably my parents. Everything I’ve learned is from them.
