Nicole Deslauriers, one of the varsity soccer captains at Hall High, has been eager to challenge herself in the realm of journalism, hoping to publish many articles on the Hall Record.
Q1: What would you say your greatest attribute is?
A1: I would say my greatest attribute is my work ethic because whenever I’m faced with a challenge or something to overcome, I work extremely hard in order to achieve it. This goes to both inside and outside of school.
Q2: What is your favorite activity outside of school?
A2: Outside of school my favorite activity is definitely soccer. I’ve played for as long as I can remember and I’m very passionate about it. I play for the high school in the fall, as well as for a premier team in the winter and the spring.
Q3: What has helped you become who you are today?
A3: My parents have played a very important role in my life. I feel like they’ve shaped me into the person I am today.
Q4: What about journalism intrigues you?
A4: I'm intrigued by its ability to inform the public of things they might not otherwise know. Many stories are left in the shadows and journalists help them come out to the light.
Q5: What do you hope to gain the most from this class?
A5: I’m hoping to become a stronger writer and improvement my informative writing skills. Being able to present facts in a non bias way is crucial in journalism, so I’m excited to learn how to do this.
