Me

Veronica Vaccaro, Editor

Veronica is an exchange student from Italy, who has many interests, including art, languages, music, history and especially writing, which is the reason why she decided to take journalism.

Where were you born?

I was born in Italy, near Verona.

What are, or what were your first impressions of journalism?

I think it’s really interesting and important. I didn’t use to watch the news often, because I found it upsetting and I used to prefer to focus on myself; but growing up I realized that I have responsibilities in this world and I believe that journalism is a way to accomplish them.

What are your favorite topics to write about?

I love writing, I do it all the time. I enjoy inventing stories and describing things, but when it comes to real topics instead, I love writing about art, food and different cultures.

What are your goals for journalism, if you have any?

To become more responsible, to better understand the news I read and to give a voice to things or people that are often overlooked.

What plans do you have after high school?

I have to go back to Italy in order to finish my last year of high school. Then I want to go to university in Spain to study History of Art, or Languages. My dream is to become a teacher.
