In this age of social media and digital networking, connection- and therefore humanity- has become virtual. We live in a digital, phone-dominated time, so it’s easy for people to miss the small things in life; a rowdy flock of pigeons, a view of the city, an eventful subway ride. These are all beautiful parts of the human experience. If we take the time to look up from our phones, to disconnect, we might just be present enough to see these transient moments of humanity. We might just be present enough to find fleeting peace.
