Coronavirus vs Restaurant Bricco

During these difficult times, restaurants have had to adjust to multiple changes in order to stay open. When COVID-19 first hit in early March, restaurants had to completely shut down for some time to discuss and figure out how to reopen. As cases began to drop and it seemed as if it was getting better, restaurants were then only allowed to do takeout and delivery orders. After a few months of takeout and delivery orders, restaurants were allowed to open with 50% capacity under certain circumstances. In the beginning, the only precautions that took place were social distanced tables. Soon later, Bricco added some new safety requirements in order for customers and staff members to feel as safe as possible. The town of West Hartford decided collectively that for every restaurant they would add tables in the street for socially distanced purposes and to give them some more business. As a couple of months went by, it moved on to 75% capacity with limitations. At Restaurant Bricco in West Hartford, one of the requirements was to have plexiglass dividers placed at the bar and between each booth to keep not only the staff safe but also the customers. Other requirements included wearing masks as you walk through the restaurant, spreading the tables out six feet apart inside, and adding extra tables into the street so that they can be socially distanced. Customers who didn’t feel safe dining inside could sit outside far apart from each table. Although for a great deal of time, Restaurant Bricco was doing very well and putting the safety of customers and staff before anything else, the virus still hit hard and affected the restaurant tremendously. Unfortunately even with all of these precautions, last week, Restaurant Bricco closed down for two weeks due to there being too many staff members testing positive for Coronavirus.
