Alex Gopaul, aspiring musician, has goals just like the rest of us. The only difference is, he will accomplish them. By taking journalism at age 17, that process will certainly speed up.
Q: Why are you taking Journalism?
A: I’m taking Journalism because I like interviewing people, I like the conversation between the interviewer and the interviewee. I don’t really keep up with current events so I’d like to keep up with current events as well.
Q: And, what do you want to take away from this class?
A: Better skills as an interviewer and conversational skills. I would say I’m not that great at conversation but, it is what it is.
Q: Who do you look up to?
A: I look up to a lot of musicians: Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Lennon, Slash, a lot of musicians that I really like listening to their music. And, I’m an aspiring musician so I’d like to be famous one day [and] be financially stable.
Q: Are you a singer or instrumentalist?
A: I’m taking choir again, so I’m gonna learn how to be singing again like how I used to. But right now, I am also taking guitar and I’m gonna learn how to play guitar and sing.
