Claire Culmo is a motivated senior at Hall High School who is looking to make an impactful contribution to the Hall Record this semester. 

Q: What made you take this class? 

A: I would say expanding my knowledge on journalism. I think journalism is very important to our rights, and I want to continue learning more about what’s happening in our world. 

Q: What are some current issues you are following? 

A: I’ve been following what’s happening to Savannah Guthrie’s mom. It’s very interesting and unfortunate, but hopefully she gets found.

Q: Is there anything you want to see have more representation in the news? 

A: I’d say two things: more diversity and hearing about different types of cultures, and also sports. Obviously there’s so many sports, but highlighting the sports that aren’t as popular, especially with the winter Olympics happening. There’s so many sports that people put so much effort into, but don’t get the recognition for. 

Q: How has journalism impacted you specifically? 

A: Me specifically, I think my knowledge on what’s happening in the world right now and what I can do to change that. Also how I can make the future better for others and myself.
