Q: What are your interests in and out of school, and why did they interest you?
A: I competitively swam for a long time, but it wasn’t really a team sport. I like being with others and working together to improve collectively, so I chose to play soccer in High School instead of swimming. My favorite subjects are math and science because I find them to be more engaging and understandable than abstract topics like History and English.
Q: What is something about yourself that you admire and why?
A: I think that I admire my work ethic because I’m always trying my best in all aspects of life even if I don’t understand. In school, I choose to take more challenging classes because I think that it is important to push yourself; it brings you more satisfaction when your hard work pays off.
Q: What do you plan on doing in the future and why?
A: I’m planning to pursue a medical career when I am older. My mom and my grandfather were always in and out of the hospital when I was younger, and I never really knew a way that I could help them. I felt like I couldn’t do anything about it, so in the future, I’d want to help other people who are in the same situation.
Q: what do you value in life and how do you plan on showing that through your writing? In other words, what do you plan on writing and why?
A: To be honest, I don’t really have a specific topic that I would be writing about, mostly because when I’m interested in a topic, I have a lot to say about it. But it doesn’t just focus on one area of interest or idea. It’s kind of just whatever catches my eye. It would just mostly be social issues or things that are happening in our school that people should know about.
