Matt Farber while playing in a football game

Matt Farber, Editor

Matt Farber, age 17, has been heavily influenced by his parents when it comes to his everyday life. As a student athlete, playing varsity football and lacrosse, Matt is enthusiastic about exploring the benefits of journalism.

Q1: What is one word you would use to describe yourself?

A1: I would say I’m determined. When I see a challenge that I’m faced with, or something I want to achieve, I work very hard to reach that goal.

Q2: Who’s your biggest inspiration and how do they motivate you? Why?

A2: I would have to say my parents are my biggest inspiration. I’ve been learning from their example my whole life and following what they’ve been teaching me. They have both played a very important role in who I’ve become today.

Q3: Why do you feel journalism is important?

A3: I think journalism is important to bring information to the people that they might not otherwise know about. Overall, it’s needed to inform the people about what’s going on in the world, and what may need to be done to improve it.

Q4: What are you looking forward to in journalism and what do you hope to get out of this class?

A4: I’m looking forward to learning how to correctly inform the people and improve my writing. I’m hoping to learn how to become a much more informative writer and learn to share information with others in a successful, unbiased, manner.
